Linxboss Review – Automation at its Best?
What It Is
Linxboss is very hands-off link building tool that generates 200 article-snippet links per month from its own blog network. For a standard account you actually get 1000 links per month, but each domain you set up in your account (max 5) can only receive 200 links each. For example, if you have 3 domains you want to link build to, this is 3 x 200 links, which means you get 600 per month. This essentially means that if you don’t have 5 domains you want to link build to, you can’t get the most from Linxboss, unless you sub-let your unused domain slots to someone else.

One-way permanent anchor text links are placed at the end of article snippets (around 100 words) and posted on a 35,000-75,000-strong blog network. The article snippets are created for you, but from what I’ve seen they are just taken from relevant articles else ware online. Your domain is never linked to twice from the same blog in their network and you can link to as few or as many URLs as you like, rotating anchor texts at the same time.
Sites in their network are (according to Linxboss):
• PageRank 1-6
• Aged 2-11 years
• All indexed in major search engines
• Domains hosted on unlimited non-contiguous C blocks
How it works:
When you login to the system you can add your domains and then set up your links

You have to provide your primary anchor text and at least one secondary. Your primary will be used 50% of the time and the other 50% will be divided up amongst the secondary terms. For example, if you provide 2 secondary anchor texts, your primary will be used 50% of the time and secondary anchor text 1 and secondary anchor text 2 will each be used 25% of the time.
The system also goes out and finds existing links already pointing to your domain and automatically builds links to these (Links4Links) from web 2.0 properties. This is supposed to boost the power of these pre-existing links but is very much a secondary service to the main system and not worth worrying about if you ask me.
Upsides
• The biggest attraction is that you really can set and forget with this system and spend your time working on other things.
• The system is very good for building large volumes of links with many different anchor texts, as well as being able to quickly and easily change your targets.
• There is a really good tracking system (see pics below) that allows you to easily monitor the progress of target keywords. However, even though I set it to UK tracking, the SERPS reported are not as good as in reality (usually about 10 positions lower) which is probably better than the other way around!
• The overall interface is very user-friendly and the system seems to be run well, with the blog network well-protected.

Downsides
• The individual links gained are not all that powerful and are not on the homepage of the blogs for very long.
• It would be nice to have a bit more flexibility with regard to how many links each of your domain gets. A brand new site probably doesn’t want to get 200 links per month straight away, but a well-aged and powerful domain could probably handle many more without suspicion.
• You need to have 5 domains to work on in order to get the most for your money.
• The system is a little on the expensive side, but I guess it will provide different ROI for each user and website.
• All links are added to end of article snippet whereas I would like to see them somewhere in the body ideally.
Linxboss performance:
I have been using Linxboss for around a month and a half, and can share some performance stats for two domains I’ve been working on.
Domain 1:
• Very new site
• Only around 10 pre-existing links
Keywords for Domain 1:
• Low competition, both closely related local search terms
• Homepage optimised for both keywords

Summary:
I think Linxboss is a great tool to add to your arsenal if you want to help your rankings, but not spend any more time doing it. As the service is expensive you should already have a clear ROI structure in place and not use Linxboss as just “a bit of a punt”. I think the best uses of this tool are for getting key pages indexed quickly and ranking longtail search terms without much effort. However, I wouldn’t rely on Linxboss alone for pulling in the big keywords as I don’t think it has the power.
