How to Get a Lower CPC on Facebook Ads, 0.09 Per Click!
We have been doing a lot of testing on Facebook ads lately and for most niches have come to the conclusion that Facebook ads get you a lot of traffic very quickly, but the conversion rate of that traffic like any other social platform is quite poor when you compare it against the likes of Google and such.
Within a few hours of launching campaigns on Facebook you will see impressions and clicks shoot through the roof. So is it worth it to spend money advertising on Facebook?
The answer to that is yes, but use this traffic in a smart way. The method we detail below will get you a heck of a lot more clicks, these clicks should be used wisely, there are a few options on how you can use them, either promote a Facebook page for your business, where you can entice users to like the page or creating a landing page so you can capture their email address.
You can then work on building your brand through these people, rather than just selling to them directly.
Whats the Tip?
As you can see from the above screenshot, on the 19th we spent £20, had almost 130k impressions and from that we got 43 clicks. Remember that again we are not trying to directly sell to these people
If you now look at the 21st you will see that we had 365k impressions and 221 clicks which put our CPC down to only £0.09 and which actually turned out to be slightly cheaper.
Now the way we did this was via targeting countries around the middle east and further afield. Because by targetting just the UK and USA you are facing fierce advertising competition which is increasing your CPC enormously.
When setting up the campaign, you can see that we have totally removed the UK and USA from the equation and limited the campaign to specific countries.
As you will notice from the above screenshot, for the sector we targeted we still are reaching out to the same volume of people, give or take a few thousand. This infact is probably an example not as good because we were targeting people interested iPhones which is more of a western market, but as you can see it still works.
In turn by selecting specific countries you are lowering your CPC and increasing your overall impressions.
Ripple Effect
Now you may be thinking to yourself, that is not my market, my market is in the UK or America. But think of it this way, if you are directing all these users to a Facebook page or a page on your site with a like button or share button. Then you are instantly reaching a much wider audience.
Your Facebook page begins to get busier, this then gets shared on the persons update status, and I can guarantee that after a few days of doing this you will start to see people from both America and the UK starting to join, simply because they all have friends in countries like Australia, South Africa, Asia etc.
